Many consider Jeremy Brett (1933-1995) to be one of the finest actors to play Sherlock Holmes. Brett appeared in the Granada series from 1984-1994 alongside David Burke and later Edward Hardwicke as Watson. The Granada series is known as one of the most faithful adaptations, and it and Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes are well-loved by many Sherlockians.
