
With their jurisdiction encompassing most of London, Scotland Yard is home to the Metropolitan Police and Inspector Lestrade. When Sherlock Holmes first appeared on the scene, London’s organized police force had existed for less than 60 years. It was one of the first of its kind and became a model for cities all over the world.
