Enola Holmes Book Series

The Enola Holmes mystery books are a series consisting of six middle-school reading level books written by Nancy Springer. They follow the younger sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes, Enola, as she solves England's toughest cases while trying to solve the disappearance of her mother and outsmart her older brothers. The first book in the series, The Case of the Missing Marquess, was adapted into a movie in 2020. The Case of the Missing Marquess in 2007 and The Case of the Cryptic Crinoline in 2010 were nominated for the Edgar Award for Best Juvenile Mystery.

The Case of the Missing Marquess: In the first book in the series, the Holmes siblings' mother disappears on Enola's 14th birthday. Enola, determined to discover the truth, disguises herself as a widow to evade her brothers and accidentally gets involved in the kidnapping of the Marquess of Basilwether.

The Case of the Left-Handed Lady: While on the run from her brothers, lonesome Enola discovers a secret stash of drawings done by someone who has disappeared. Enola risks everything to find this left-handed Lady Cecily and save her from an unknown assailant.

The Case of the Bizarre Bouquets: In this installment, Dr. Watson himself is the subject of a disappearance. With nothing but a bouquet of flowers that symbolize death, to go on, Enola must race the clock to find Watson before Sherlock finds her.

The Case of the Peculiar Pink Fan: Enola's friend Lady Cecily returns when Enola finds her being held hostage at an orphanage. To save her friend from marriage, Enola works with Sherlock, risking her own freedom to free Lady Cecily.

The Case of the Cryptic Crinoline: As Enola fights to keep her freedom and search for her mother, her landlady, Mrs. Tupper is the closest thing she has to family. So when she is kidnapped for seemingly no reason, Enola does everything she can to find the culprit and their connection to Florence Nightingale.

The Case of the Gypsy Good-Bye: In the series conclusion, Enola and both of her brothers work together to find their mother and discover her connection to the disappearance of Lady Blanchefleur.
